Ottawa—Vanier—Gloucester
Hey there! I’m Jackson Skam, a student at the University of Ottawa running as the Revolution Party’s federal candidate for Ottawa-Vanier-Gloucester. As a student in history and political science, I have become aware of the systemic injustices that occur in capitalist societies, and I know that the best path forward is towards a democratic socialist system.
I have previously held a position as a Member’s Assistant on Parliament Hill and my experience has taught me invaluable political skills and insights. It solidified my belief that real change needs to happen in order to create a society that better prioritizes the lives of all Canadians rather than the accumulation of capital and taught me the importance of approaching politics with respect and empathy rather than divisiveness and fear.
I am running because I am deeply committed to the core priorities of the Revolution Party of Canada. My focus is on advocating for policies that aim to improve the lives of all Canadians, such as implementing Universal Basic Income (UBI), nationalizing food
banks, and holding a referendum on proportional representation. I am dedicated to using my platform to amplify the voices of those who are often overlooked in our current society and to approach issues with empathy, optimism, and a willingness to learn.
Cheers!
